Tis the Season

The season of colds and flu, that is!

I am prone to throat and lung disorders. I believe it stems from having tonsillitis when I was six and the doctors didn’t take out all the tags and they grew back. Then I would have symptoms of tonsillitis every winter, but not have the bacteria. But it didn’t make the symptoms any less severe.

So my entire life, it seems as though my body physically reacts to the changes in weather, hot or cold, dry or damp. My joints get stiff in the winter when we change to wet weather whether it’s rain or fog.

Last night my lungs felt like there was a 20 pound brick laying on them. I fell asleep in my office chair at 7 pm, got up and went to bed, but I ended up having to sleep nearly sitting up so I could breathe without discomfort.

I woke up at 2:30 am and the rain was coming down in droves! It was windy and torrential. Surprisingly I slept pretty well considering how difficult it was to get to sleep, and I slept in until 9 am, which is unusually late for me.

But I woke up with a major headache. It’s nearly 2 pm and I still haven’t been able to shake it. I don’t want to take aspirin or anything else especially stronger pain pills.

The hot shower didn’t help, the hot tea didn’t work so now I am going to use the Laser.

So, it’s bound to let up soon, even if I have to take a nap!
