Improving Your Skin

I mentioned last week I have been in pursuit of various methods to improve the appearance of my skin. I am often told I look 10 to 15 years younger than I am. But I think the way I wear my hair (long and with curls) and my attitude (I’m always curious and interested in other people’s stories) has as much to do with it as my skin.

I challenge myself to make subtle changes every year on my birthday however. Cut my hair a little or change the style. Try new, but not trendy, clothes. I don’t know why or where I got the idea, but I never wanted to have the same “look” two years in a row. The differences aren’t that drastic so it’s never shocking, such as pink streaks through my hair, but they are enough to make it interesting.

I had heard that Vitamin C breaks down what destroys the collagen and elastin in our skin, so I found a pure Vitamin C powder and mix a teaspoon in a 6 oz spray bottle and spray my face every morning. You can find an 8 ounce package on eBay.com for under $10. It will last all year.

Once a month I make a paste and a mask that I apply too. I leave it on for about an hour.

I love the naturalness of Vitamin C and who knows if it actually has made a difference, but I know I get compliments on my skin on a regular basis!
